On July 3rd, 2025, Prime Ship Management Ltd. proudly participated in the Maritime Leadership and Innovation Day, held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. The event brought together key players from Ghana’s maritime industry, legal experts, and alumni of the International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI), under the theme:

“Charting New Waters: Legal, Blue Economy and Maritime Futures for West Africa.”

The event was hosted by Hon. Joyce Bawah Mogtari, an IMLI alumna and former Head of Legal and Estates at the Ghana Shippers Authority. Her leadership and long-standing contribution to the maritime legal landscape helped bring together a distinguished gathering of stakeholders committed to rethinking the future of West Africa’s maritime sector.

Maritime Leadership and Innovation Day served as a clarion call for a new generation of thinkers and doers in the industry—those ready to shape the region’s seaward destiny through bold governance, forward-thinking solutions, and meaningful collaboration.

A highlight of the day was the panel discussion titled “Digital Waterways: Unlocking Ghana’s Blue Transport Economy”, which explored how legal reform, technology, and leadership can converge to drive sustainable growth across the sector. The conversation featured voices from government, academia, and private enterprise, emphasizing that West Africa’s maritime future will not be shaped by chance but by deliberate action and cross-sectoral vision.

Our CEO joined distinguished guests and stakeholders including:

The Minister for Transport

Representatives from the Ghana Maritime Authority and Ghana Shippers Authority

Meridian Port Services, GOIL

The Attorney General’s Department and more

A standout keynote by Yorm Ama Abledu, Executive Secretary of the Centre for Blue Economy Africa (CBEA), inspired the audience with a call for courage and collaboration in maritime leadership. Quoting a young fisherman named Kojo, she posed a powerful question:

“The ocean is asking us all: who are we becoming?”

At Prime Ship Management Ltd., we are proud to be part of such critical conversations shaping the future of the maritime industry. As we continue to deliver trusted ship management services across the region, we remain dedicated to a shared vision: a modern, inclusive, and sustainable blue economy where the ocean connects us all.
